WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., (June 15, 2011)- Continuing its rapid growth as the leader in college sports marketing, IMG College, a division of IMG Worldwide, today announced it has reached an agreement with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) for a five-year multimedia rights partnership.
“We are excited to partner with IMG and to join the other leading conferences it represents and believe this deal is a great statement about where we are and where we want to go as a Conference,” said Dennis Thomas, Commissioner, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. “We are confident in IMG’s ability to foster new partnership and to develop corporate partner initiatives for the continued growth of our Conference.”
Under the terms of the agreement, IMG College will manage and market all rights associated with advertising and sponsorship inventory including title sponsorship, temporary venue signage, game programs, event promotions, and hospitality at Mid Eastern Athletic Conference championship events. IMG College also has the exclusive sales rights for public address announcements, the Conference website, advertising opportunities within MEAC radio, and TV broadcasts.
“The MEAC, comprised of 13 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), has a tradition-rich history, and we are honored to represent its multimedia rights,” said Ben C. The new partnership agreement is effective July 1, 2011.
The Collegiate Licensing Company, also a division of IMG Worldwide, currently represents four institutions in the Mid Eastern Athletic Conference including Florida A&M University, Howard University, Morgan State University, and North Carolina A&T. IMG College represents multimedia rights at Florida A&M University.
Since its inception in 2007, IMG College has grown to represent the sponsorship or multimedia rights for more than 100 collegiate properties.
