Auditions for national anthem and halftime performers for the 2010 MEAC Basketball Tournament will be held Saturday, January 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Haines Hosiery Community Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The audition tabbed as MEAC at Center Court, offers entertainers, singer/choirs and musicians, of all ages and backgrounds, an opportunity to showcase their talents at the conference’s annual Division I basketball tournament.
The 2010 MEAC Basketball Tournament tips off March 8-13 at the Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem.
Auditions for national anthem performers runs from 9-11 a.m. National anthem performers will have up to two minutes to perform an a cappella version of the song. Halftime performers are scheduled to audition from 1-3 p.m. and will have up to four minutes to present their acts in front of a panel of judges.
Interested applicants should possess a positive attitude, creative technique and style and display a high level of showmanship and energy. Participant waiver forms can be found on MEAChoops.com and MEACsports.com.
Auditions are free and open to the public. Space is limited and applicants are encouraged to be on time and prepared to perform at the time of arrival.
