2008 Miss MEAC Voting Component
Competition Segments
The 2008 competition will consist of three (3) segments which will ultimately determine who will be crowned Miss MEAC 2008. Contestants will be judged in the following areas:
- Online Voting: Each Queen will submit a photograph, brief bio and a 500 word essay to be posted on the official MEAC tournament website (www.meachoops.com), where students, family and friends will be able to vote for their favorite Queen from 2/10/2008 to 3/10/2008.
- Question & Answer: Each Queen will be required to answer one (1) question during this segment on a current event or social issue. A sampling of questions will be provided in advance, however, the contestants will not know their final question until the actual competition.
- Poise & Style: While modeling day wear (business attire) and formal evening wear, Queens will be judged on poise and style during this segment.
Each contestant will receive points for the three (3) competition segments. Each segment is worth 33.3 points. The Online Voting segment will be calculated online in advance, while the Question & Answer and Poise & Style segments will be judged by a panel of three (3) judges during the competition. A final tally of points from all three (3) segments will be calculated onsite at the competition prior to announcing the winner.

The 1st place winner of the Miss MEAC Coronation will be crowned Miss MEAC 2008 and will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship as well as the wardrobe provided to them for the competition.

Essay completed with topic “The Most Influential Woman in My Life”.
Essay 500 words or more.
Written biography submitted.

Queens arrive Raleigh, NC by 10:00AM.
11:00AM-2:00PM- Wardrobe Fitting at Belk’s Department Store.
2:00PM-5:00PM- Rehearsal.
5:00PM-6:45PM- Make-up and preparation.
7:00PM-9:00PM- MEAC night at Belk’s “Meet the Queens” hosted by Belk’s and Fashion Fair Cosmetics.
